Joan DeJean

Joan DeJean es profesora de lenguas romances en la universidad de Pennsylvania desde 1988, está especializada en los siglos XVII y VXIII, la historia de la sexualidad y la literatura femenina escrita en francés. Recibió el galardón de la Society for the Study of Early Modern Women por su traducción de Against Marriage: The Correspondence of the Grande Mademoiselle.   Entre sus obras están:  How Paris Became Paris: The Invention of the Modern City (Bloomsbury, 2014), The Age of Comfort – When Paris Discovered Casual, and the Modern Home Began (Bloomsbury, 2009), y The Essence of Style: How the French Invented High Fashion, Fine Food, Chic Cafés, Style, Sophistication, and Glamour (Simon and Schuster/The Free Press, 2005), publicada en español por la editorial Nerea.
