II. El cuerpo puede ir a donde quiera

Elizabeth, la que hace volar los elefantes, es en sí misma una mezcla diversa y asombrosa. Viste siempre de negro y botas altas, el pelo un tanto a lo punk, los anteojos de armadura gruesa, y no deja nunca de irradiar simpatía, bromista y cordial. Atleta, bailarina, coreógrafa, escenógrafa, es la inventora del espectáculo de la "acción extrema", que también es una filosofía, y dedica su vida a probar su tesis de que el cuerpo humano, la asombrosa máquina de alta precisión que nos contiene, puede ir por sí mismo adonde quiera, más allá de sus límites y de su resistencia, el extremo donde la irrealidad se toca con la realidad. Aislar toda la acción que se haya inmanente en el mundo y en el cuerpo, la energía pura convertida en acción permanente, capaz de ponernos alas a nosotros y a los elefantes.

            Ver la acción, sentir la acción, ejecutar la acción. Biografía

Sergio Ramírez nació en Nicaragua en 1942. Publicó su primer libro Cuentos, a los veinte años. Participó en la lucha para derrocar la dictadura Somoza y formó parte del gobierno revolucionario, del que llegó a ser vicepresidente en 1985. En su obra literaria figuran, entre más de una treintena de libros, Castigo divino (1988), Premio Internacional Dashiel Hammett de Novela; Un baile de máscaras (1995), Premio Laure Bataillon a la mejor novela extranjera en Francia en 1998; Margarita está linda la mar,  Premio Alfaguara de Novela 1998, y Premio Latinoamericano José María Arguedas en el 2000. Así también Cuentos completos (1998), con prólogo de Mario Benedetti; Adiós Muchachos, memoria de la revolución sandinista, (1999); el libro de cuentos Catalina y Catalina (2001); Mentiras Verdaderas (2001) y El viejo arte de mentir (2004), ambos sobre la creación literaria (2001); las novelas Sombras nada más (2002) y Mil y una muertes (2004); Señor de los Tristes, ensayos sobre escritores y escritura (2006), El reino animal, cuentos (2006), Tambor olvidado, ensayos (2007), El cielo llora por mí (2009) y La fugitiva (2011).
