IV. Y son incontables sus muertes y daños...

Las estrellas que un día manejó, como Alí, Foreman, Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mike Tyson, ya no existen, o se le fueron para siempre de las manos. Todos se le rebelaron. Tyson lo demandó por estafa en cien millones de dólares; Alí por más de un millón de dólares.
    Y son incontables sus muertes y daños, habrá dicho, suspirando, Rubén Darío, desde su pedestal, al ver pasar la caravana del visitante ilustre que acudía a una entrevista oficial con el presidente Ortega en la Casa de los Pueblos, vecina a la estatua del bardo. Biografía

Sergio Ramírez nació en Nicaragua en 1942. Publicó su primer libro Cuentos, a los veinte años. Participó en la lucha para derrocar la dictadura Somoza y formó parte del gobierno revolucionario, del que llegó a ser vicepresidente en 1985. En su obra literaria figuran, entre más de una treintena de libros, Castigo divino (1988), Premio Internacional Dashiel Hammett de Novela; Un baile de máscaras (1995), Premio Laure Bataillon a la mejor novela extranjera en Francia en 1998; Margarita está linda la mar,  Premio Alfaguara de Novela 1998, y Premio Latinoamericano José María Arguedas en el 2000. Así también Cuentos completos (1998), con prólogo de Mario Benedetti; Adiós Muchachos, memoria de la revolución sandinista, (1999); el libro de cuentos Catalina y Catalina (2001); Mentiras Verdaderas (2001) y El viejo arte de mentir (2004), ambos sobre la creación literaria (2001); las novelas Sombras nada más (2002) y Mil y una muertes (2004); Señor de los Tristes, ensayos sobre escritores y escritura (2006), El reino animal, cuentos (2006), Tambor olvidado, ensayos (2007), El cielo llora por mí (2009) y La fugitiva (2011).
