Mariquita en Cuba

Leo Adiós Mariquita Linda de Pedro Lemebel (editorial Sudamericana, Señales) y me impresiona el verdadero gueto donde vive el autor por ser “marucho” de la especie de las “mariquitas”. Su mundo homosexual es tan cerrado que entrega un glosario al final de su obra para ayudar al lector despistado por “marucho” u otra palabra de su jerga homosexual. Claro que no sabía (uno no puedo saber todo) que “mamao beat-box” es “un acompañamiento musical realizado por los raperos donde el micrófono es reemplazado por el falo”. Pero al contrario, lo que entendí desde la primera línea es que Pedro Lemebel es un escritor. Sus descripciones de caminatas a través de Santiago de Chile, sus relatos de momentos difíciles en Perú son suntuosos bocetos, tal como los bocetos, dibujos hechos con lápiz y papel, que reproduce en su libro. Lemebel, que no conocía hasta leerle, que aparentemente hizo su libro con pedacitos de lo que publicó allá y allí, camina con talento en una tierra de amores malditos y de sabor poético (“…solo conocí el mar, la otra parte son aguas que te seducen en un vértigo de miradas o palabras de un joven poeta…”). El libro no se parece a nada pero da todo, hasta el relato de una noche de amor no cumplido con un homosexual enfermo de sida en Cuba. En una isla que creó el concepto del sidatorium para encarcelar hasta a sus pacientes potenciales (que llevan el virus sin que se manifieste la enfermedad); son encuentros con prófugos que huyen de una cárcel pero llevan su verdugo por dentro. Encuentros con seres inalcanzables, lo viví hace años, y que te dejan una amargura para siempre. Pero con Lemebel, no sé por qué, aquel encuentro es más bien un momento de gracia. Todo lo que escribe sobre Cuba en su libro es excelente, gracioso. Me acuerdo que en Cuba a los mariquitas les dicen mariposas. Lemebel escribe como vuela una mariposa. Hasta tal punto que me llevó a buscar el famoso poema “Son de negros en Cuba” que Federico García Lorca dedicó a Fernando Ortiz para entregar un son a la isla. ¿Era tan bueno como lo recordaba? Sí. Gracia intacta; gracias a Lemebel por llevarme a releer lo que da un sol para todo el día: "Cuando llegue la luna llena iré a Santiago de Cuba, iré a Santiago en un coche de agua negra. Iré a Santiago. Cantarán los techos de palmera. iré a Santiago. Cuando la palma quiere ser cigüeña, Iré a Santiago". Lemebel fue a Cuba, y para parodiar la frase clásica de los machistas de la isla, es un escritor que tiene lo que hay que tener.

Biografía

Jean-François Fogel es francés y tiene 58 años. Periodista y ensayista, trabajó para la Agencia France-Presse, el diario Libération, el semanal Le Point y el mensual Le Magazine Littéraire. Ha vivido una parte de su vida en España donde empezó una segunda carrera como asesor para empresas de prensa. Fue asesor del director del diario Le Monde, desde 1994 a 2002, y sigue trabajando en la concepción y la remodelación continua del sitio Internet creado por el vespertino. Es maestro de la Fundación Nuevo Periodismo Iberoamericano donde desempeña una línea pedagógica dedicada a la calidad periodística. Publicó varios libros sobre literatura francesa y sobre América Latina. Su libro más reciente es un ensayo sobre el periodismo digital, Una prensa sin Gutenberg (Punto de Lectura, 2007).
